In the 40 years of DPCH MOD 1980 2020 signatures thank you for the memories shirt history of infectious disease—with HIV home kits and things, there’s always this tension between, “Wow, we really want people to have accessibility to this test, and to scale up and make sure people can access it and afford it.” The other tension is, how do you make sure people interpret those results thoughtfully and don’t panic? One thing I’ve seen with my patients is they get a positive COVID-19 test, and they get really scared because they don’t know what it means, and they’re like, “Am I gonna die?” And, you know, that’s very heartbreaking. I think, if you can talk to a health care professional to interpret it and figure out what it means, that would be optimal. So I just want people to know there is some nuance to interpreting the test, and if they have any questions at all, they should reach out [to a health care professional]. But it is a good thing, I think, to make this testing more accessible.
